United Engineer for Engineering and Construction or UNEFECO is an Indonesian company that focuses on smelters facility maintenance and support.

• UNEFECO was originally a joint venture company (PMA) between Niigata Engineering Co., Ltd. Japan and Indonesian national private companies, and in 2004, UNEFECO completely transformed into a national company (PMDN).

• Since the start of construction of the INALUM smelter in Kuala Tanjung, UNEFECO has participated in mechanical work, such as, installation of shell, superstructure, busbar and others.

• After the INALUM smelter is in production, UNEFECO continues to participate in carrying out routine maintenance to maintain the working reliability of the potshell, busbar, superstructure, and other production equipment facilities.

• Apart from routine maintenance of INALUM smelter production facilities, UNEFECO also participated in several pilot projects to increase smelter production capacity using KAN-NAK Swiss technology (2016) and EGA technology (2023).

• In 2021 UNEFECO collaborated with SAMI (Shenyang Aluminum and Magnesium Engineering and Research Institute) to carry out an Upgrading project or increase production capacity in Line-2, totaling 170 pots. This has an impact on increasing production capacity by up to 10% of installed capacity.

• Furthermore, UNEFECO will continue to focus its dedication and service in advancing the Indonesian aluminum industry through work methods that comply with national and international standards.
