In 2016 UNEFECO and KAN-NAK, an aluminium smelter optimization company based in Switzerland, collaborated in a pilot pot test project to examine production capacity upgrades. Through modifications of superstructures, busbars, as well as other auxiliaries on five pots. This project aims to test the optimization of aluminum production by increasing electricity capacity to 255 kA (kiloamperes) with KAN-NAK technology.
